V - T R A X

What is it? What does it do?

V-TRAX allows introduction  of individual distances, perception-reaction times, angles,  lateral  acceleration factors, and other information in order to generate a scale animation of the incident.

V-TRAX is  animation and tracking of four vehicles (objects) drawn to scale. This graphic presentation  shows the time and space relationship between the vehicles. Specific areas can be zoomed (in or out), and the camera position changed while the animation is in progress for finer scrutiny of the vehicle/vehicle (or vehicle/pedestrian) relationship.

Changes  to  perception reaction times, distances,  acceleration/deceleration  factors, approach angles  and other factors can all be modified and the changes observed. The vehicles  can  be easily switched  between accelerated and non-accelerate states to determine  the effect on the incident.

Lateral  acceleration can be introduced to animate one vehicle "passing" another vehicle. This can also be used to animate a vehicle making a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle, or a vehicle in the left lane turning right in front of another vehicle.

Now, V-TRAX lets you incorporate post impact trajectories of skids, turns, yaws, and even spinouts into the animation.

V-TRAX animates many of the common accident scenarios, and will generate a printout of  the positions  and speeds. It presents a scale animation that your audience can see, instead of  just numbers and formulae. It is another valuable tool in your REC-TEC arsenal.

TRUCK*BRAKE  (HEAVY TRUCK) has now been incorporated into REC-TEC. The S-CAM AIR BRAKE section computes the braking efficiency of vehicles equipped with S-cam air brakes. This section utilizes an improved "Heusser" model, including Heusser's latest variations for time and temperature. This section plots the deceleration curve and plots each brake's performance while simultaneously displaying critical data for each brake (48 brakes maximum) on one screen. No other program allows the flexibility or generates this type of detailed output. The section handles ABS and ABS/hybrid truck and bus brakes plus multiple surface decelerations. REC-TEC also covers static and dynamic Rollovers, Offtracking, and Weight & Balance calculations with detailed graphics.

V-TRAX - ANIMATION of 4 vehicles (objects), 4 directions, 4 speeds, 2 vehicles decelerating or accelerating, 2 vehicles in single or multiple lateral maneuvers. Vehicles are drawn to scale on scale roadways showing scale damage. Time frame breakdowns of 1/100th, 1/1000th, and 1/10000th of a second plus freeze frame. V-TRAX has on the fly ZOOM and  POSITION. POST IMPACT TRAJECTORIES for the primary vehicles may be incorporated into the animation showing skids, turns, yaws, and spinouts.

REC-TEC will run on any 32 bit Windows system except Windows 95. (The Evaluation copy will run on 95 but the Licensed version will not because of an uncorrected flaw in Windows 95.

REC-TEC is designed to run under WINDOWS (98/NT/2000/ME/XP).  It is installed with icons. It will change  sizes, move, hide, and all the other things WINDOWS programs can do. It will also allow you to transfer both TEXT and GRAPHICS into any WINDOWS word processor (WORD, WORD PERFECT, AMI PRO, etc.).

TIME/DISTANCE - designed to solve any single vehicle time-distance problem, including SWERVE and SWERVE & RETURN information. If run as a multiple surface problem, it will generate data on both the individual and combined components of both accelerations and/or decelerations. Output includes real time animation of crash avoidance maneuvers.

TIME/DISTANCE MULTIPLE VEHICLE - tracks two different "units" in any combination of acceleration, deceleration, or constant velocity. This section will compute speeds, times and distances to or from impact and generate tables for increments as small as 1/1000 of a second. It will also compute the changing sight triangles for each vehicle and generate plots of both vehicles simultaneously by velocity versus time or distance. 3-D real time animation is available for any time or distance required.

MOTION ANALYSIS - computation and animation of SKIDS, YAWS, SPINS plus animation of VAULT trajectory. This section can handle individual wheel braking and steering for up to 24 segments (surfaces). This data and animation will link with Linear Momentum to animate spins etc., out of impact.

LINEAR MOMENTUM - provides the ability to fragment the vehicles at impact and to generate tables based on changing the angles, weights, or exit velocities. 360 degree diagrams can be generated, scaled to the velocities, momentum, or a combination of the impact velocity and the exit distances.  This section also does IN-LINE MOMENTUM, VECTOR SUM  ANALYSIS,  VECTOR-MOMENTUM (linear momentum combined with vector analysis to solve for post-impact with given impact data) and ENERGY-MOMENTUM analysis. 3-D animation with linking to MOTION ANALYSIS lets you see what the math is saying about your problem from different views.

ANGULAR MOMENTUM - Rotational momentum - includes multiple rotation points and full graphics.

CRUSH - CRUSH5 -CRASH3 - CRUSH is the Damage analysis section of Crash3.  CRUSH5 is an enhanced version of Crash3 Damage analysis that employs both non-equidistant and non-linear crush measurements that more accurately profile the vehicle and damage.

ENERGY - will compute simultaneous Conservation of ENERGY/MOMENTUM problems generating answers not previously possible.
